Any movie that the killer uses a pick axe and has a sweet gas mask, as well as death scene with midget with a pick axe through her head while being electricuted, as well as a naked chick running around in heels and a gun is going to be great in my book.

Even though 3-D horror movies never really made it big, like the movie industry hoped for, this one was bad ass. It even made the Bware TOP movies of the decade list and, in my opinion, the best horror movie of 2009, and definitely the 2nd best horror movie remake done to date (the first being Dawn of the Dead, of course).

Jensen Ackels, AKA the dude from that supernatural show on UPN, plays Tom, the sole survivor of a family that once owned coal mines. He returns to town to sign the papers of the selling of the mine, now 10 years after a valentines day massacre that claimed the lives of 22 people. There was a cave in at the mine but that is not what killed the miners, an investigation into the cave in showed that the miners were all killed by a fellow miner who had killed them all with a pick axe before taking his own life. Now that Tom is back in town, murders are occurring once again and the murder weapon is a pick axe. Instead of a homecoming for Tom, he is now being accused of being the murderer and he is determined to find the true killer.

The death scenes in the movie are pretty damn sweet aside from the ones I mentioned before, there is also one with a pick axe to the back of the head straight through to pop out the eye socket. Another with a cute little blonde's face being cut in half with a shovel, her deep throating technique needed a little work obviously. I won't mention all the deaths scenes so there still is some surprise for you.

This movie is technically a remake but it is definitely different from the original and is done extremely well.

I added this movie to my collection so I'm going to say it's worth a BUY or a rental. Definitely CHECK this one out. Snuggle up with your booty call, significant other, the crack head you picked up who is sucking your dick for a rock, and pop this one in because there are not too many Valentine's Day related movies out there worth watching but this one you don't want to miss!
